KCC Arenas are over-the-board tournaments with a difference: there are no rounds. The arena runs for a fixed period, for example from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and you play as many games as you can in that time.

How it works

  1. Join the arena in the KCC Arena Portal.
  2. When the arena starts, you are paired with an opponent and given a board number.
  3. Play your game at the venue.
  4. You and your opponent each report the result on your phones. When both reports match, the result is confirmed straight away.
  5. Your score and KCC Elo are updated, and you are paired with your next opponent.

A win is worth 1 point, a draw ½ and a loss 0. The pairing system prefers opponents you have not played yet, with a similar score.

If the two reports do not match, the game goes to the KCC organizer, who decides the official result.
